What
you mainly noticed at the luncheon were Grandma’s plants. She said she wanted a party, and it was
exactly the kind of party she would have had – white tablecloths and lots of
potted plants. When we started going through
them, we found that many had been sadly neglected in the absence of their
gardener. They missed her too.
She
always liked living things. Plants and
people, and she helped cultivate both.
That was mainly what you noticed, looking around the room. Lots of life that had been shaped by hers.
It
was beautiful.
